Specializations

Students can use their T2 and T3 General Education courses toward a choice of four specializations. The specializations are designed for students who wish to develop a greater depth of knowledge in a particular area that will aid them in the development of their careers as educators. Specializations by themselves do not qualify students for additional state-awarded certifications or endorsements. However, they are recorded on the students’ transcripts, and the courses may be applied to future certifications or endorsements.

All students will be required to take the courses on the program/credit breakdown detailed above. Each specialization will not require any additional credits. To earn a specialization students will select at least two of the following courses for their Tier 2 requirements and at least two of the following courses for their Tier 3 requirements.
